About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Designer to join our engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a new graduate or a junior professional looking to kickstart their career in building systems design. You will work closely with senior engineers on diverse projects, gaining hands-on experience in lighting, power distribution, and fire alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Drafting: Create detailed electrical drawings, layouts, and specifications (Lighting, Power Distribution, Single Line Diagrams, Fire Alarm) using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Technical Calculation: Perform basic engineering calculations to ensure system efficiency and safety.
  • Compliance: Apply Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and building regulations to all designs.
  • Project Coordination: Review shop drawings, prepare site instructions, and coordinate with architects, contractors, and authorities.
  • Field Work: Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure quality control.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
  • Experience: Entry-level; New Grads are welcome. Previous co-op or internship experience in construction/engineering is an asset.
  • Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Experience with Revit is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and basic understanding of electrical/mechanical systems in construction.
  • Soft Skills: Strong initiative, communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, integrated team environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of Canadian building codes and standards.
  • Driver’s license and access to a vehicle for site visits.
